Concertmaster: János Rolla Featuring: Yefim Bronfman – piano Grieg: Holberg Suite Mozart: Piano Concerto in C minor, K. 491 Schubert: Symphony No. 5 in B flat major During its forty years, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra has performed in Hungary and abroad with such distinguished pianists as Annie Fischer, Sviatoslav Richter, Martha Argerich, Dezső Ránki and András Schiff. In the first concert of their four performance subscription series, their guest will be the world famous Yefim Bron...fman. Born in Tashkent, Bronfman now lives in the United States. He made his debut at the age of sixteen with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and two years later, joined the orchestra on an American concert tour led by Leonard Bernstein and Zubin Mehta. He has given concerts with the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Sanderling, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with Barenboim, the Cleveland Orchestra with Dohnányi and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra with Lorin Maazel. He is a committed chamber musician and has partnered ensembles and artists such as the Emerson, Guarneri and Juilliard Quartets as well as Joshua Bell, Lynn Harrell, Yo-Yo Ma, Shlomo Mintz, Jean-Pierre Rampal and Pinchas Zukerman.
