Featuring: Budapest Concert Orchestra MÁV Conductor: Ádám Medveczky Erika Miklósa is one of the greatest talents of the Hungarian opera singers of our days. She was the youngest ever member of the Hungarian State Opera House, which she joined at the age of twenty, making her debut as Pagagena in 1991. Her international career was launched a year later at the Brussels Opera House. To this day, she doesn’t have a music academy diploma but perfected her craft in Milan and Philadelphia. By the... age of thirty, she was equally well-known in Hungary and abroad. In autumn 2004, following her debut performance at the New York Metropolitan Opera, she was immediately offered a three year contract. In 2006, she gave a jubilee concert at the Palace of Arts entitled “Fifteen Years in Music” to great acclaim. Naturally, she was asked to perform here again and she gladly accepted the invitation. She has invited special guests from the world’s leading operatic stages: the Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja and Italian bass Roberto Scandiuzzi. The concert features scenes, arias and duets from operas by Italian composers Donizetti, Verdi and Bellini.
