Yoav Talmi was born in Israel and now lives in Canada. He is the artistic director and principal conductor of the Quebec Symphony Orchestra. The opening work this evening is a witty paraphrase of Mozart’s opera The Marriage of Figaro. Pianist Tamás Érdi is known around the globe as a Chopin interpreter. His first independent Chopin album was released in 2004. Camille Saint-Saëns, whom Franz Liszt described as the world’s greatest organist, premiered his Third (“Organ”) Symphony in 1886 and d...edicated it to the great Hungarian composer who passed away only months earlier. The soloist in this evening’s performance is László Adrián Nagy who won the special prize of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage in the 1999 Franz Liszt International Organ Competition.
