Conductor: Jan Willem de Vriend Handel: Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno Libretto: Benedetto Pamphili Oratorio in two parts, HWV 46a Soloists: Patrizia Biccere (Bellezza), Anne Lise Sollied (Piacere), Nathalie Stutzmann (Disinganno), Carlo Vincenzo Allemano (Tempo) The Combattimento Consort Amsterdam was founded in 1982 by violinist Jean Willem de Vriend with the intention of founding an ensemble that was habituated to performing music dating from 1600 to 1800. Within this, the p...rimary objective was for their repertoire to focus less on the regularly performed works but rather play a forgotten repertoire, much of which is only available in manuscript form. These performances have attracted enthusiastic audiences while the musicians have found themselves inspired by the research work. Besides their concerts in Holland, the ensemble has worked throughout Europe and also in the United States, Japan and South America to universal critical acclaim. Members frequently undertake solo roles but the Combattimento Consort has also partnered some distinguished guests, among them soprano Barbara Bonney, clarinettist Sabine Meyer and violinist-conductor Thomas Zehetmair and the Collegium Vocale Gent. Their CD recordings of early music are renowned throughout the world, and a number have received prestigious awards.
