(In 1517, Charles left the Law Countries and took his best musicians with him to Spain where he lived and reigned.) The group is one of the leading early music groups and brilliant performers of 15th and 16th century Flemish music. Their versatile programmes are often assembled with the help of leading scholars of this era. The transparent polyphony of the group and the creative relationship between musicians as well as their incorporation of musical, poetic and technical trends from the era, make for stunning concerts. The four vocal parts of Capilla Flamenca are sometimes supplemented by guest singers, at others they employ their own (or external) instrumental groups (winds and strings) or even select an organ if that suits the requirements of a given programme. They have worked with such supreme musicians as e. g. Pierre Boulez, John Eliot Gardiner, Gustav Leonhardt, Olivier Messiaen and Zubin Mehta. These great masters of early music have earned numerous musical prizes that have been awarded in recognition of their performances, artistic value and musicological researches. Concert duration: approx 70 minutes, without an interval
