Bartók Spring kicking off with free online performances from 2 April

In the spring of 2021, on the 140th anniversary of the birth of Béla Bartók, we will be launching a unique series of events embracing total art. The Bartók Spring International Art Weeks being organised by Müpa Budapest between 2 and 18 April is getting ready to welcome culture lovers online with international stars, world premières and concerts broadcast from Europe's renowned concert halls.

The first online Jazz Showcase has taken place – here are the favourites of the jury and the audience

On Sunday, for the 14th time the spaces of Müpa Budapest reverberated with the sounds of jazz, this time both in real life and virtually, too. The production of this year's Jazz Showcase took place in special circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic. There was a recording of performances from the talent show's youthful bands, before the day ended with a live broadcast of an evening concert by the Subtones, the band of Gábor Subicz, one of the discoveries of the 2008 Jazz Showcase.

Until 31 March, Müpa Budapest is welcoming the audience to a virtual space with online concert broadcasts

We wish to inform our visitors that, In light  of the provisions instituted by the Hungarian government with respect to the situation with the global pandemic and in consideration of the safety of our artists and audience members, Müpa Budapest has extended the period it will remain closed until 31  March 2021. Throughout this period, no visitors will be admitted to the building. However, we will be ready to welcome the audience with live streamed concerts and special performance recordings on our online platforms, as part of the Müpa Home broadcast series.

The Müpa Budapest building will remain closed until 31 January, and no visitors will be admitted

We regret to inform you that, pursuant to the decision of the Hungarian government and in light of the pandemic situation, Müpa Budapest must remain closed until 31 January 2021. While we cannot admit any visitors into the building, we will be live streaming concerts and presenting recordings of special performances from the past via our online platforms through the Müpa Home broadcast series.

Change in Programme! In place of the planned Romengo concert, we will be broadcasting a performance by the Shai Maestro Trio.
