More...Richard Wagner, one of the most important composers in the entire history of music, was born 207 years ago, on 22 May 1813, and Müpa Budapest will once again be celebrating his genius in worthy style. The Budapest Wagner Days event series, which has been winning unmatched international acclaim since 2006, will reach another major milestone in 2020 by moving into the digital realm: between 18 and 27 June 2020, Müpa Budapest will make an entire festival's worth of video from its rich archives of recordings of the programmes available to the public free of charge.
More...Dear Patrons,
Müpa Budapest is continuing to prudently and confidently prepare for the 2020/21 season in light of the latest information regarding the coronavirus situation. With advance preparations to reopen in the autumn underway, the Müpa Budapest team is working full force, and in line with the relevant professional guidelines, to make sure that our artists and audience members will be able to return to the arts centre in safety and free of anxiety.
Even though the past few months have rewritten our programmes for us in many respects, there was no way we could let 2020 could pass without Müpa Budapest holding our annual start-of-summer popular music festival. Taking the stage at the Hey, June! festival each year since 2005 have been some of Hungary' most popular performers, each of them there with a show that they have put together – both musically and visually – expressly for the occasion. What we will be doing this year is assemble a selection of a few reminders of the most exciting concerts from 2016 through 2019, which we will present as part of our online Müpa Home webcast series between 3 and 17 June for you to enjoy on our website, Facebook page, or YouTube channel, as you prefer.
More...With consideration for the health of both our visitors and staff, Müpa Budapest will remain closed for the rest of the 2019/20 season. This means that all planned performances have been cancelled up to and including 7 July.
More...We wish to inform our customers that the price of tickets purchased on the mupa.hu website for cancelled performances organised by Müpa Budapest that had been scheduled to take place on or before 31 March 2020 will be automatically refunded to the bank card used in the original transaction.
More...Müpa is now closed due to the national state of emergency. However, even in this extraordinary and trying situation, the satisfaction of our audience, and in particular our most loyal customers, is extremely important to us. Which is why, from 10 April to the end of the season, 7 July 2020, we will freeze the Platinum, Gold and Silver levels for the Müpa+ membership programme. This means that no one's membership level can move down a level, and cardholders will not lose the discounts related to their current level, even if their loyalty membership expires in the meantime or if they do not have the required number of points for that particular level.
