As a soloist György Vukán has travelled practically all over the world. With his trio, he has performed at the Royal Festival Hall. Meanwhile, as a composer, he has written psalms, an opera, ballet music, symphonic works, a mass and film music – the latter including two Oscar-nominated scores. Béla Szakcsi Lakatos played an inestimable role in the popularisation of jazz fusion in Hungary. Today, his art is characterised by a blend of jazz and contemporary improvisation. He has already devoted a ...good many concerts to the Hungarian Hospice Foundation, always displaying readiness to support worthy causes, such as helping cancer patients or promoting the integration of Roma minorities.
