In the morning when the cock crows, you wake up with the whole day ahead of you. What a lot can be done in a single day! You can play, tell stories and poems, fall out and make up again, compete, and laugh at – or with – each other. But there’s one thing you need for all this, and that’s a friend. Without a friend, you will only mope around and get bored. Paul Maar’s play for children is about friendship and how we depend on each other. On this special day, the play’s two odd but loveable heroes... are dealing with important questions when a stranger shows up unexpectedly in their midst. What’s more, this stranger has an enormous, beautiful drum that’s hard to resist. But is someone who says they’re your friend truly your friend? Can someone who tries to trick you still be your friend? And how can you say sorry when you’ve upset someone important to you? Performances are followed by creative learning activities in the Ludwig Museum.
