Twelve whole years elapsed between the completion of the second act and the sketching of the third. Bavarian King Ludwig II began supporting Wagner, enabling his to finish the Ring and also to construct the Bayreuth Opera House which became a centre for the Wagner cult. The Budapest Wagner Festival is a further sincere, arts-centred expression of the cult, where Stephen Gould will debut in 2010. His has just performed Siegfried in November 2009 at the Vienna Staatsoper, where he is a member, as are Michael Roider, Tomasz Konieczny and Walter Fink.
