Warm-up bands at Jazz Spring 2010

As an innovation in the history of the Jazz Spring series, at this year’s festival warm-up bands will entertain visitors before the main evening concerts at the Glass Hall of the Palace of Arts starting from 6 pm.

These musical „aperitifs’ stylistically related to the evening concerts are provided by young formations. On may 17th the Gábor Subicz Quintet of young Hungarian jazz and pop talents will play preceding the Djabe concert.  The group promises psychedelic jazz-funk with a touch of dub, reggae, drum and bass and hip-hop.
On May 20th once again the bass guitar will be protagonist before the Jaco Pastorius tribute concert. The Egri & Pluto Fusion lead by the two highly popular bass players, József „Plutó” Horváth and János Egri will play tribute to the American genious of bass guitar. On the last day of the festival the Bolla Gábor Quartet, Grand Prix winner of the 2005 Avignon Jazz Festival will give a concert prior to the performance of Kálmán Oláh.
