The Purcell Choir and the Orfeo Orchestra playing Mozart, Denis Matsuev playing Liszt online, live

2011. October 17.

There will be two live broadcasts on the website through the Müpa Live Webcast this week. On 20 October the Purcell Choir and the Orfeo Orchestra will perform Mozart pieces, while two days later, on the 200th anniversary of Ferenc Liszt’s birth, Denis Matsuev will play Liszt’s piano concertos.

On Thursday, Mozart’s two most popular and expansive works, the Mass in C minor and the Requiem will be performed. The two pieces are rarely heard as part of a single performance, making this a very special evening. The Purcell Choir and the Orfeo Orchestra will be conducted once again by György Vashegyi.
Denis Matsuev gave several highly successful concerts in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall and returns to Budapest with Liszt’s piano concertos on 22 October. In one of the last concerts of the Liszt! In every respect series, the world famous Russian piano virtuoso will be supported in this performance of outstanding stamina and technical proficiency by the Danubia Symphony Orchestra, founded by Domonkos Héja.
