Müpa Radio’s programming structure to be revamped

Müpa Radio will await listeners with a revamped programming structure from February 1. Each month, a performer of the month will be chosen from artists who grace Müpa Budapest’s stage, and audiences will have the chance to hear a one-hour selection of their work several times each week. Müpa Easy will focus on the art of Buika, while Müpa Symphony on that of Valery Gergiev in February. In addition, Müpa Symphony will also have a showcased composer each month, with a selection of their work likewise aired several times every week. Previous Literarium Evening broadcasts are to be aired with the title Digital Literature from 10pm on Mondays.

Additionally, thematic compilations will also await listeners on both channels. On Müpa Symphony, Mondays focus on piano music, Tuesdays on compositions for orchestra, Wednesdays on chamber pieces, and Thursdays on works for choirs. Müpa Easy will be airing some of the best jazz recordings on Mondays, soul on Tuesdays, world music on Wednesdays, recordings by Hungarian performers on Thursdays, pop music on Fridays, music by artists with ties to Müpa Budapest on Saturdays, while Sundays will showcase the electro-jazz and ambient genres.
