The second choreography of the Bartók Trilogy, made by Gerzson Péter Kovács and Gábor Mihályi to László Sáry’s music integrating Hungarian folk music and moving towards contemporary abstract, was premiered at Müpa Festival Theatre on October 29, 2008.

The choreography of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble coordinating image (dance, design, costume and lighting) and music and putting the performers, dancers and musicians on a throne above the former, has reaped considerable success both in Hungary and internationally. The production has recently been purchased by Centro Servizi Culturali S. Chiara, the cultural centre of Trento, Italy, where it is to be performed to the audience along with the first piece of the Bartók Trilogy, Highland Treasures, in December. It was the unique artistic unity of the productions, melting Bartókian traditions in contemporary dance art, that the impresario was fascinated by.
It is also at the Palace of Arts where the audience will first have the chance to see the new sequence of Sunlegend, the production of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble with unbroken popularity and one hundred performances in the past ten years. The premiere of Dreamtime, a performance envisioned by Gábor Mihályi, to the music of Nikola Parov based on folklore but dashing, spectacular and meeting today’s expectations, is to be held at the Festival Theatre on October 6, 2010.
