Charity concert on All Saints Day

2011. October 25.

On 1 November, conducted by Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro, the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra presents a concert in the National Concert Hall to benefit the victims of the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

In view of the full extent of the devastation caused by the disaster that hit Japan in March, it has become obvious that rebuilding the country requires international collaboration as well, be it in the form of humanitarian, ecological or financial aid. The organisers have offered the entire amount collected from ticket sales to the victims of the disaster; the donation will reach the international emergency fund supporting reconstruction efforts with the assistance of the Hungarian–Japanese Friendship Society.
The last time the conductor of the concert, Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro, directed the Orchestra was 35 years ago, and the programme, Verdi’s Requiem, is not only a fitting choice for All Saints Day, but it also clearly demonstrates the compassion and solidarity of the performing artists.
