CAFe Budapest programmes coming to the Palace of Arts

Several programmes of the CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, organised between 3-19 October, will be hosted by the Palace of Arts, both inside the building and outside in the CAFe Arts Tent.

The festival will feature Hungarian and foreign stars and ensembles, such as Laurie Anderson, Gilbert Varga and the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Amadinda and the JU Percussion Groups, the Ránki family, Gergely Vajda and the Hungarian Radio Symphonic Orchestra, Lajos Parti Nagy, Daniele Finzi Pasca, the Recirquel Contemporary Circus Company, Cirque Le Roux, Grencsó Kollektíva, Wicked Knee, The Tiger Lillies, Jazzation, Delalamm, Slixs, Santa Diver, DakhaBrakha and Nina Hagen
Fans of the contemporary arts will be treated to special performances, as the festival will feature The Fifth Season, choreographed by Dóra Barta and Andrej Petrov; a silent film by Oscar-winning director Michael Curtiz entitled The Exile, with a newly written contemporary score composed for this occasion; Études for the Player Organ performed by László Fassang; Body of Songs with contemporary choral pieces; Babel Nights, built on the mutually amplifying effects of different forms of artistic expression and the Contemporary Opera Tales, featuring the works of György Orbán, János Vajda and György Selmeczi.
