Boskovice 2013 – festival for Jewish quarter

2013. June 13.

In one week begins 21st year of the festival Boskovice, which is traditionally dedicated to a unique part of this small Moravian town – Jewish quarter.

It will offer during four days a varied program and an unforgettable atmosphere. At various places in the town visitors will find four music scenes, theater performances, exhibitions, film screenings (documentaries, feature and student films), authors readings, lectures, cycling trip, guided tours of the Jewish Quarter...

 

The festival started at 1993 as an non typical type of summer festival: put together music, theatre performances, films, exhibitions, author´s reading and other events in connections.

It is dedicated to Jewish quarter of Boskovice, unique architectonic monument, from its origin Festival is focused to evoke openness to all kind of culture which historically met in this region and to build an atmosphere of tolerance and respect. The dramaturgy of the festival brings to its audience present production from different cultural fields and different countries. The festival takes place throughout the city: music on two open air stages, in synagogue and in orangery, theater performances at the ruins of castle and in the parish garden, projections at the local cinema, exhibitions at the museum... and many other events.
