She has been a guest of the State Folk Ensemble, the Sebő Group and the Etnofon Music Society. She collaborated with Ágnes Herczku and Ági Szalóki on the “Mouth to Mouth” project, and made her debut with her own band in 2006 with her album Song keeps time. In late 2008, she released a new album Wee Songs in which she “informed contemporary audiences of the secrets and messages of one-time traditional peasant music, to show a new direction for those committed to Hungarian folk music”. Béla Bartók Memorial Award winner and multi eMeRTon-Prize winner Ágnes Herczku collaborated with Bartók researcher and pianist Tímea Djerdj with support from the House of Traditions in 2007, to make a unique CD on which Béla Bartók’s folksong arrangements were heard in the songs’ original context. As a consequence of this revolutionary paradigm shift, the time has finally come from folksongs to win back their authenticity and naturalness, stripping them of Romantic pathos, which distinguished opera singers have added to them over the years.
