One of the leading Budapest jazz festivals is now celebrating its fifth edition. The MOL Jazz Festival again presents an exciting series of events, as we have now come to expect. Once again this year, each concert will take place in the Ferencváros district (which includes the Palace of Arts) and the five day exploration of jazz again explores given themes. This year, centre stage is given to the guitar and since this instrument enjoys an important role in the most diverse of neighbouring trends... – in rock, avant-garde music and world music – the Festival welcomes the finest Hungarian and international exponents of jazz fusions with these styles. There will also be appearances from “mixed teams” of Hungarian and international musicians that bring with it the potential for exciting new musical discoveries, a feature that has become a hallmark for this festival. The Palace of Arts now provides the venue for the alpha and omega of this festival, the opening and closing concerts, for the third occasion.
