Kampec Dolores first made their mark as a successor group to the legendary Kontroll Csoport twenty-five years ago, but besides their love of underground rock, they have always been open to inspiration from folk music, contemporary improvisatory music and ethno-jazz. Zuboly is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2009 but they have accumulated a rich background of influences. Playing their so-called Broken Ethno style, they fuse hip-hop, jazz, folk and dance music with a disturbing absence of inhibition. It is the openness to the musical avant-garde, their surreal image making, originality and love of experiment that elevates both bands above populism. Béla Ágoston, who founded Zuboly, was formerly a saxophonist with Kampec Dolores but although the two groups do have much in common, it is important to emphasise that we are talking about two autonomous bands whose music stands apart from each other in its every pore. And there is more: to delight their followers, they will be presenting a production never seen before. Kampec Dolores have given the title Organic to this concert in which they will be playing their hits as well as numbers from a new album. But the show will feature puppets, story telling and dance, raising it to a whole new level. Zuboly are also working on a new disc: it’s called From just a Pure Glass and features some pieces which are hard to fit into a regular „dance music” concert. But besides Dezső Kosztolányi, Kelemen Kőműves and some other classic contraband, primarily, they will be showing us their own wares.
