The remarkable ...oeuvre comprises hundreds of songs in which the verses of Dezső Kosztolányi play a distinctive, symbolic role – without him, any production for children or adults would be virtually inconceivable. After the Helikon and the Gryllus Publishing Houses hooked up to release a series of books and records, a full album of twenty five Kosztolányi songs came together in 2005. “Perhaps the reason why we feel so close to Kosztolányi set to music is that he was a poet who could write everything: novels, short stories, newspaper articles – and he only wrote verses if his idea demanded expression in verse”, we read in the introduction. The world of Kosztolányi in music will be revealed in Kaláka’s performance, while actor Gábor Máté will recite a selection from the writer’s printed opinion pieces, showing us another important aspect of Kosztolányi’s art.
