This year is no different. The stages of the Banner Hall and Glass Hall, as well as the main outdoor stage erected near the P’Art Café terrace, will host free concerts for anyone wishing to kick back in the afternoon – or even take to the dance floor. The indoor stages will play host to small bands representing both traditional and modern jazz, to be joined as the fancy takes them by a flurry of soloists – occasionally expanding to form an entire horn section. Meanwhile, the main stage will feature a one-off production from the Hot Club of Hungary, followed in the evening by the Police Big Band. The latter is conducted by trumpeter, trombonist and composer Béla Szalóky, who is also artistic director and host for the entire programme. The big band will keep the dance floor swinging from 8 pm right up until the first firework is released into the night sky above the Danube. Entry is free Presented by: Palace of Arts
