Almost a year ago to the day, one of the most striking bands of Hungarian light music, Heaven Street Seven (HS7), picked up the gong for “European Breakthrough 2006” at the Cannes MIDEM, as the only East European band. Krisztián Szűcs and his band prepare for another unique and unrepeatable (or at least: not everyday) performance. Heaven Street Seven will dress their songs into unusually silent, moderate, and re-arranged acoustic clothes, and look back at the origins of well-known and popular H...S7-songs, the majority of which were composed with the help of one, single guitar. The line of specialities does not end here, as the band has invited guests for this night at the Palace of Arts. Before the concert of HS7, the most popular band of the Austrian indie-scene steps on stage. The band Garish has received several light music prizes in its home country, composed a complete movie soundtrack and is starting to become popular also outside Austria. Heaven Street Seven will be accompanied by a string quartet and Karaván Familia, the ensemble known from the last HS7 concert, playing authentic Gypsy folk music. The special guest of the night will be Gábor Presser for two songs. During recent months, the composer mentioned HS7 in several forums, as one of his favourite Hungarian bands.
