This unique musical collective, led by Ambrus Tövisházi is now playing in its big band line-up. Augmented with guest musicians, Erik Sumo Big Band is performing with its regular guest soloist, Erzsi Kiss who is also known for her theatre work and her own band, as well as Béla Ágoston, the eccentric exponent of Hungarian ethno-jazz, who himself plays a stack of instruments. The backbone of the programme is drawn from the 2005 Erik Sumo album, My Rocky Mountain, as well as material from their new... CD Years in the Forest which is due to be released soon after this concert. The Erik Sumo Band’s resident vocalist Veronika Harcsa, who has also enjoyed much success in Europe and Japan with her own jazz quartet, as well as Erzsi Kiss, will combine for a pulsating duo to make this energetic yet dreamlike evening unique. The collaboration of the wind instruments will make it more memorable still.
