Works by Alexander Agricola, Giulio Caccini, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Vincenzo Galilei, Claude Gervaise, Heinrich Isaac, Francesco da Milano, Jacob Obrecht, Diego Ortiz, Guglielmo Ebreo da Pesaro, Domenico da Piacenza, Tylman Susato and from the Johannes Tinctoris dance collection and tabulatura books. One of Hungary’s leading experts on Renaissance instruments is Róbert Mandel. He has overseen and compiled this series, in the second half of which – having travelled back in time several hundred ...years – we visit European musical centres and learn about the characteristic instruments of the Renaissance European courts. We get a rare chance to hear the viola da gamba, the remarkable Lautenwerck and the theorba harpsichord, the Renaissance harp, the vihuela da mano and the Renaissance guitar. And not forgetting the vielle, serpents, pommers, dulcimers, gemshorns and krummhorns.
