The Year of Liszt in 2011 sees a series of youth concerts celebrating Ferenc Liszt as both the greatest piano virtuoso of all time and a citizen of the world. This concert takes movements from some of Liszt's best-known piano pieces and connects them to the twists and turns of his hugely eventful life. The ideal of the Romantic artist is embodied in Ferenc Liszt: at once citizen of the world and Hungarian patriot, heart-throb and cleric, wandering virtuoso and prolific composer, unique celebrity... and loyal friend to many. As both musician and presenter, young pianist Balázs Fülei will provide the audience with a glimpse into this eventful career. Despite his youth, Fülei has earned numerous awards and the highest praise both at home and abroad.
