In his words of welcome to honour the first International Music Day in 1975, the event’s creator, the great violinist and teacher Yehudi Menuhin, said: “I would like to encourage every town, village and country to hold a variety of musical events on this day. I would be happy not only for works both old and contemporary to be heard in concerts and on the radio, but also for singers, choirs, jazz musicians and important performers of classical music to appear spontaneously on the streets and squa...res to play music together.” It is based on his call to action, which remains as relevant as ever today, that we have put together this year's International Music Day concert. The event features the Aladár Tóth Music School and its young musicians, winners of both international and domestic competitions, performing both classical and jazz pieces with the school's successful ensembles. Tickets can be ordered for school groups by e-mail at csip@mupa.hu. Ages: 8–14 years Presented by: Palace of Arts
