Piano pieces by Debussy and Bartók Debussy: L’Apres Midi d’Un Faune Bartók: Two Pictures – Blossoming, Village Dance Two times Kossuth Prize winner, world famous pianist, conductor and principal music director of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra Zoltán Kocsis hardly requires an introduction. He is not just a superb performer but also the possessor of a rare knowledge of the entire musical literature and its many inter relationships, something he loves to share with children. Kocs...is particularly loves the work of Hungarian Béla Bartók and Frenchman Claude Debussy and will be talking to his young audience about the common features of these two great composers. He’ll also be playing several works on the piano. After the interval he will take to the podium to conduct Debussy’s L’Apres Midi d’Un Faune and then Bartók’s wonderfully graphic works, Two Pictures.
