This production brings the music of the legendary Hungarian progressive rock band Syrius to the stage in a form that is in turns a concert in the classical sense, a theatre spectacular and a contemporary dance performance. Although the semi-staged concert is an extremely popular genre around the world, it is still considered a novelty in Hungary. The concert tours of major bands have already crossed this boundary to make an even greater impression on their audiences. The objective is to effect t...he emotions of the audience on several levels, so the performance speaks differently to each person. Each listener, and viewer, must put together their own performance from the cavalcade of events on the stage, picking and choosing which of the parallel elements to focus on at any time. This freedom of experience is one of the genre's great discoveries of the 21st century. It does not impose a single point of view on the viewer, making it possible to satisfy a broad range of cerebral needs. This production is unique in several respects: It is the music of Syrius, now ranked among the classics, revisited with the instrumentation of the 21st century. In collaboration with the Hungarian Frank Zappa Tribute Band, this concert will feature performances from well known Hungarian stars, such as Charlie Horváth, Ádám Török, Béla Szakcsi Lakatos and former Syrius keyboard player László Pataki. Meanwhile, the internationally recognised Szeged Contemporary Ballet will translate thoughts expressed in music into the language of contemporary dance. All this is accompanied by a new innovation from Hungary, namely the stunning imagery of Aximmetry, which opens up new dimensions in the visualisation of music. These three components together create a completely unique theatrical dialogue that will speak equally to those looking for nostalgia, fans of contemporary art and a younger generation immersed in a world of 3D graphics.
