The Pál Frenék Dance Company, in its production entitled Seven (staged to mark the group’s tenth anniversary) addresses the issue of becoming an expatriate, the individual\'s breaking with his own culture and integration into a foreign society. It examines where it is necessary to redefine individuality and national identity, and whether the transformation is at all possible. The breaking-free and the integration are manifest as a kind of abstract, corporal metamorphosis. The choreography furth...er develops the abstract movement that treats the entire three-dimensional space as a “danceable” spatial geometry, which can be modified by a simple process of scenographic transfer. It uses contemporary elements of fine art, and ventures out to the ultimate threshold of physical performance, pushing back the boundary between the possible and the impossible Further performances: Festival Theatre, May 25. (19.00)
