The Four Seasons
"We must live at once with the sun, the moon, the flowing of the waters, the cold and the heat: never against them, always adapting ourselves to the harmony of the world, to the full order of creation and destruction. The only ones who stumble in life are those who are somehow deaf inside to the sounds of the world around them.” (Sándor Márai)
The freshness of spring is the equivalent of a person with a newly open, welcoming character. This personality ...is obliged to change when, despite a hungry intent, they hit walls and remain an outsider. Thus arrives the summer of the soul, the world of outwardly animate extremes without inner control, which renders the person still more outcast and empty. Despite the perfection found in autumn, he or she still yearns to leave, driven on by an inner restlessness. All this is the recollection of a couple who have matured together, who in winter almost relive and acknowledge with a wise smile everything they have gone through together, with and for each other.
"Journeys have meaning. But we only understand this at the last moment, immediately before the end is reached.” (Sándor Márai)
Choreographer and leader of the group Dóra Barta presents The Four Seasons by Vivaldi and Max Richter through energetic choreography, with the emphasis on the evolution of the human spirit and the changing spiritual stages of a human lifetime.
The Fifth
Society and the rules by which we are able to exist in the world around us change from time to time. But the ways in which we behave in public or behind closed doors are always very different. The Fifth, which was inspired by Max Richter's recomposition of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, is a meditation on the changing rules of behaviour, about what we do when no one is looking and what we do when everyone is watching.
