Music: Chaplin, Wagner… musical selection Costume: Ben van Cauwenbergh Sets, video: Dmitri Simkin Assistant: Gizella Horváth Choreographer: Ben van Cauwenbergh, Dmitri Simkin Performed by the Győr Ballet Artistic director, manager: János Kiss “I'm just a nickel hall comedian trying to make people laugh... I want to capture some of the hurt and joy again”, said Charles Chaplin. Scenes from his great films The Kid, City Lights and The Dictator come alive on the stage. The “tramp” finds hi...mself time and again in characteristic Chaplin situations which are filled with spontaneous humour, situation comedy, dynamism and also poetry. “Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot.” Through his creation of human dignity in rags, a battler against the evil in our world, Chaplin will always live on in individuals who have seen his films. Aren’t all of us Chaplins to some extent?
