Since 1983, International Dance Day has been held on 29 April to commemorate the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, considered the father of classical ballet. For this festive occasion, the plan this year is to give audiences a chance to attend two special gala evenings. In the Palace of Arts, we can see a representative selection of productions by artists given awards by the Association of Hungarian Dance Artists in 2012, while the National Theatre of Szeged welcomes International Dance Day by f...eaturing the 25-year-old Szeged Contemporary Ballet. The two productions will be linked by joint film screenings. (The organisers reserve the right to alter the programme!)
