The Duna Art Ensemble started out 55 years ago on the Blue Danube, a boat moored by the Chain Bridge in Budapest, on which it gave highly entertaining and spectacular performances. Later, as the dance ensemble of the Interior Ministry, it brought increasingly professional and artistically demanding choreographic productions to the stage, in which it strove to seek out pure sources of inspiration and take an innovative approach to adapting and presenting authentic folk dance. In the first part o...f this jubilee performance, the ensemble will resurrect some long-unseen pieces of choreography, while the second half will feature a selection of dances from its current repertoire. The performance will provide an overview of the productions of the past decades, which continue to define the ensemble’s artistic endeavours and profile to this day. The patron of the evening is Interior Minister Sándor Pintér.
