A consistent theme of Ferenc Liszt's entire oeuvre is the crossing of boundaries, the free movement between diverse genres and the interplay between various mediums of expression. Among the finest examples of this are the songs and operas, as well as entire symphonies and symphonic works, that he transcribed for the piano. He drew inspiration from just about anything, from the greatest works of music to the paintings of the Italian Renaissance, and found surprisingly original perspectives on the... compositions of his contemporaries. In the spirit of Liszt, Tamás Vásáry and Henriett Tunyogi will explore the potential for dance in the rich layers of his work. Presented by the Budapest Spring Festival
