Media sponso...r: Rádió88 Three works by three composers: Bartók, Ligeti and Eötvös. Three eras, the imprints of three psychological states. Inner music, intimate thoughts about their own time. Ciphered in them every thought, fear and hope of the last one hundred years. Not specific years, not political analysis, but true history: that of people. Visual magic in which individuals multiply; interior and exterior images and dreams about ourselves, small movements and enormous energies, slowed down steps and residue shadows; images about the centuries within us, the century of neurosis, narcissism and borderline syndrome. (These three psychological prognoses are three of the determining phenomena of the 20th century.) All three composers left Hungary for different reasons, but in their souls they retained their Hungarian-ness, the relationships with partners, with the homeland and with God, and with texts by the poet Endre Ady who depicts this special Hungarian system of relations with greatest complexity. Personality is historically determined. Today’s generation of thirty and forty year olds do not truly find their place in daily life, relations and faith as their parents and grand parents. Everyone for a different reason: because everyone is inhabited by the residue of the past century. This evening of theatre is the same, an evening of dance with a very contemporary theme. It is about how we can process this past, which does not appear on the pages of history but in our everyday relationships, so that perhaps we do not know why we hate, why we love, why we are searching, why we are longing and for what? A journey in a historically determined soul, uncovering secret layers.
