A performer of great stature recognised in a number of styles, Lew Tabackin has led his own bands since the 1960s, lined up for a number of all-star bands over the years, and is a masterful player of both flute and tenor saxophone. While the ethereally abstract flourishes of his flute betray Asian influences, his saxophone is broad in range, both explosively dynamic and luscious in texture. It is this latter side of his musical personality that will be on show with the Szakcsi Jr. Trio as warmly... welcome a genuine master of swing. Presented by: Palace of Arts
