25 Years of the L'Art Pour l'Art Society
8 February 2012, 6.30 pm - 9.45 pm
Bartók Béla National Concert Hall
Featuring: Róbert Dolák-Saly, András Laár, Zsolt Pethő, Móni Szászi and invited guests
The L'Art Pour l'Art Society celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2011. The genre-defining act has left a colourful mark on Hungarian theatre, entertaining audiences on television and on stage without interruption since 1986. It is safe to say that the troupe is unique in operating under its own steam all this time, dreaming up new plays on the Hungarian absurd time and time again. The comedy collective has 13 independent theatre productions and several dozen television shows under its belt, appearing in almost all of the country's theatres and cultural centres along the way. The problem in selecting material for the jubilee show was one of choosing what to leave out, particularly as this special evening will be supported by a cast of well-known guest artists and a rock band. One thing is for sure: L'Art Pour L'Art will be tickling the audience's funny bones to the fullest extent possible.
